Fly Away - Waltz Wave

Fly birdie fly. Spread your wings and soar. The time has come to leave the nest, your destiny awaits. Fly birdie fly. Spread your wings, catch the wind and heed freedom's call. 6/21/15 Entered in Skat's Any Old Poem #9 contest

This is beautiful Kim. Its a joy to see the different forms you create. I love how you penned of a bird flying to its freedom. I used have flying dream often and can I recall the feeling being free(not a care in the world). Excellent job. Thanks for sharing:) Alexis

Thank you, Alexis! Actually I haven't personally created any forms myself. I find them on other poetry sites and try them out.

In my childhood, I frequently fantasized that I could fly --- running, jumping into the air, I was airborne for a short time. And that was one of my favorite activities, especially after having seen a screening of the Peter Pan movie. I never wanted to grow up (and I'm still not sure I ever did.) I enjoyed your poem.

I think all kids are fascinated with flying. My husband doesn't want to grow up either. Thanks for stopping by and I'm glad you liked my poem.
