Flat-Line
I see your pulse flat-line
you lied and said you’d be fine
that we’d be together
until the end of time
I watch as you fade away
slipping into that
dark, uncertain abyss
from which no one can return
I can feel you growing cold
we’re not even old
and yet
your soul has left the earth
