Finally Free
Dawn gilds the far fringes of night,
as shafts of sunlight pierce your eyes.
And you wake to a world of light,
free from drugs, delusions, and lies.
Your body bears old scars of shame,
yet you're finally free of pain.
And Sol rises, a ball of flame,
defeating darkness yet again.
Tears no longer pool in your soul
or trickle down from tearful eyes.
For although life levies a toll,
hope is renewed with each sunrise.
You feel like the engine that could,
it's been years since you've felt this way.
And actually, feeling good
feels better and better each day.
Now that reality's real,
you can see tomorrow once more.
The truth has transformed how you feel,
for it's what you've been looking for.
