Navigating
It takes some people years to learn
to deal effectively
with all the tough predicaments
and challenges they see.
Some fail to plan before they act
when problems come their way.
They plunge in fast and deep, then hope
their hastiness will pay.
When life is like a raging sea,
they try to swim ashore.
They have to fight the waves they caused
by choices made before.
They want another chance. They long
for peace and harmony.
They vow that in the future, they
will face reality.
Like captains navigating ships,
we all must learn to guide
our lives. When those deep waters come,
we dare not try to hide.
Nor will we find success in haste;
our steering must be sure.
Poor navigating skills in life,
we never should inure.
