Eulogy For the Not Yet Departed
Beautiful, radiant sun in sky. On fire.
Needing to know, all that it carries.
Waiting to fulfill its purpose, poised.
Flee from the night sky, full of stars.
Needing not its enlightenment…
Yet taking it in by the spoonful.
Maybe a little more torment next time.
Please pass the salt. Not for the food.
Blood pressure too high, doctor says.
This is for the wounds, the pain resides.
