I gathered all of my dreams, frustrations, wishes, and fears. And locked them in a tower guarded by a moat of tears. Emotional bars won't let these guarded feelings escape. And a web of sticky lies prevents dreams from taking shape. Spanning the drawbridge of time hope has built a secret door. And beyond it lies a path that takes me back to before. But I threw away the key that could have unlocked that door. And fled from a memory, lost to time forevermore. (Quatrain) 6/18/2015

Beautiful medieval imagery conjures in my mind, Emile. I love how you clearly state that the prison is created by oneself. I particularly love the image of "across the drawbridge of time" because it suggests mechanics of control. Superb.
