Dust Till Dawn
As the sun come up
it was red as blood,
at mid morn blue
like water that floods
And finally white
its shade had become,
and the ring around
was orange and plum
Dust from the outback
rolling in waves,
hit us with force
and nothing is saved
I went out Walking
dirt filled my mouth,
tasting of sand
tongue dry as drought
A swirling of Eddy’s
outside the door,
as nature’s revealing
my mouth fills in awe
Climbing through cracks
that didn’t exist,
this storm from hell
tried to blow us to bits
In glimmers of light
that dapple the floors,
the air is full
as wind gusts the doors
Of all the sights
I’ve seen in my life
nothing compares
to a gravel worn night
A sheet of tin
is flapping like hands,
creating a whirl
in brown and white sand
I’m sitting and watching
the world outside,
and I pray that nature
lets her anger subside
ON the 23-25th of September Australia seen one of the worst dust storms in our history I
wrote this on the first 'worst' day .....
