Disappearing With the Dew
When the last rays of sun have
melted,
from an icy winter's sky,
and the ground has turned to
shadows,
the night begins to cry.
I come to you in silence,
a vague and distant dream,
a nightmare of your making,
the echo of your screams.
The heartbreak of your
happiness,
soft breath upon your face,
the longing of a memory,
you never could replace.
I slither up beside you,
caress your dampened hair,
would you stir and find me?
Alone again, you wouldn't dare.
You smile in solitary sadness,
and fight against the tears,
frightened by the monsters,
unseen by any mirrors.
Suddenly, you shiver,
wakened by the cold,
Crimson parts your burning
lips,
desire left untold.
Morning dances across your
soul,
the lingering of my perfume
your only clue,
your dream had been a dream
after all,
disappearing with the dew.
