Depression's Shadows

Disturbing shadows darkness cast
Depression has found me at last

I released all anger from with-in
To the world confessed my sins

Started my life anew and free
Is this all I’m meant to be?

In my home or in my cell
Alone in my mind I dwell

Nothing left for me to fight
Do you feel that I’m all right?

I have feelings of such despair
Knowing there are those who care

Knowing all that rises also falls
Every single cell has four walls

The computer is now my friend
As my thoughts twist then bend

It seems that I have lost all hope
As my sanity dangles from this rope

Hi Everyone, Man I already miss you all.
I go to see my Surgeon tomorrow and I
should get my computer room back on
the 28. As I can I will pop in but know in
hearts that I love you. Keep your heads
up and hearts open and always know the
world is that much more special because
you are a part of it, Michael

Glad that you found your computer a friend. We, readers at Poetry Soup, are richer for the experience. It's nice to be able to use words as a release. Thank you for your contribution to "Tidbits." I concluded the poem if you would like to check out the finished piece. Let me know if you see anything that may need correcting. Keep on writing! Karen

Aw, miss you so much too Michael. Read your blog, but every time I started my comment it ended up too long and personal so I gave up - sorry! Most importantly you have made my day. To know how great you feel inside is all you need (as we all know) to reach your goals whatever they may be. Your faith, your inner strength is an inspiration and after reading your note to me I feel like I am soaring with you. Thank you! God bless you and family always. You are a joy. Love you, Shar xoxo

Micheal you are loved. Do not despair for many prayers are coming your way and there is so much power in prayer. Surgery is hard on anyone so take it easy. The mind is a powerful thing so think of the positive things and think of all the special people in your life. God Bless, get well Michael. Phyl

Don't let the shadows overtake you my friend. You will come out of this victorious, defeating the shadows and overcoming the surgery. Be well. Michael

Dear Neighbor....you have so many here on the Soup who will be praying and wishing you God's speed during this challenge. I am throwing flowers your way, the wind promised to carry them south for you....(did you catch them?) just as a reminder that you will be in my thoughts. Keep your eyes on those Mountains that surround us...The Buttes, Mt Lassen are reminders that we live in God's country. Have faith in that...God Bless~ Carrie

Hello Mike, hang in there my friend. Know that I am praying for you. It took much longer for me to heal from my surgery that I was told by the surgeons. It also hurts a lot more, and I had to spend more time in bed. I started bleeding when I tried to walk and do too much. It takes time! However, I am okay now and will be back to skipping ropes soon. Stay focused, take it one day at a time, don't push it, do your therapy, and the body will heals itself in time. Great job! ~Joseph
