At sharp six Dawn broke The phone rings And I pick ‘He’s gone’ Was the next I heard ‘What!’ Was the scream I gave Unbelievable! Said the voice inside of me. As tears began battling With my already weak eyes Sorrow began knocking On the door of my heart Thoughts of all kind Began to troop into my head Third invasion in a year! That’s impossible! Was the last sentence I found. The phone fell My lips separated but nothing else escaped How long ago did I just leave him Just few minutes ago No! don’t leave Please don’t leave me alone. I wiped my tears This a joke must be My mother’s first blood gone! No, Never! Your ancestors are too far away So why have you run off so early to meet them? Ugo! Ugonnaya! Ugonnem! Chei! Aru emela ooo! A pretty boy Barely nineteen years did he murder here on earth Yet a leader of more years Just twelve months To kiss education goodbye Barely 365days to serve his fatherland Then the enemies striked. He left four behind To finish the race he began If God is happy And Angels are rejoicing Then we patiently shall bear our loss Do sleep well in His bosom For this race I will continue Until I reach that crossroad at old age If only my Lord wills it.
