Dancing In the Grave Yard

I dance upon you
and your spirit I lift
in to my heart.
I dance upon you all
I dance where I can
in between the headstones
on grasses of divan,
where once you’re feet laid
where your love ones
shed their last evanescent tear.
I dance through
the small hours of night
and the longest time of day,
I dance, I dance, I dance
this my humble homage to you all
you whom served your era well,
you made the masters
with your skill your energy,
you fought their bloody wars
your enterprise kept them rich
but only of an earthly kind.
Oh yes when I dance
I dance and I remember you all,
so to you that spread your seed
ever so well
to give another generation life,
I dance!!

I LOVE free verse poems that use the art of repitition and if it's not done quite right, it just doesn't work and makes the poem boring and repetitive...You have done it to perfection here my friend!...Congrats - Tim

wow, I have not seen one like this before. To dance on the graves of these special folk and pay homage. What a most interesting idea, harry. I really like this!! A fun read too. (we used to play hide and seek in the huge cemetery across our street, but I prefer this idea of dancing!)

I have heard of dancing on the graves. Is that a custom in your Country. My friend's son worked in the cemetary, where a 16 year old girl that died was buried. She was a balarina. Well, thanks for sharing this with us. check your Soup Mail later. Thanks for reading part I. Lucilla

Dancing for the dead and dancing for the living. Dancing for this eternal choreography of life! The greatest dance of all. Difficult at first to see through the veil of the apparent, once beyond that the luminosity provokes. Beautiful. Thank you.
