Cast Off Thoughts
Cast off, thoughts of yesterday,
of childhood and innocence.
Leave behind, silly dreams.
They hold no place in the present.
Of child hood and innocence,
I use to believe.
They hold no place in the present,
where reality is all, it seems.
I use to believe,
they held a power all their own,
where reality is all it seems,
on this side of the looking glass.
They held a power all their own.
Perhaps, I could reach out,
on this side of the looking glass.
Maybe then, I will recall.
Perhaps, I could reach out?
Leave behind silly dreams?
Maybe then I will recall,
cast of thoughts, of yesterday.
