Bridge of Mystery

Every minute that I live Encountering another bridge That I'll gladly walk upon Leads to joyfulness-- no harm Never knowing what I'll find When I reach the other side Maybe a house upon a lake Where it will be fun to make A family with the only guy Who is the apple of my eye Riding a horse would be a pleasure On a farm with lots of treasures Like a cowboy I can hold On country nights when it is cold Lying on a beach at night Stars dance and sparkle with a light That shines down like magic beams As I'm drifting off to dream A grass skirt and hula dance Hawaii's where I'll take a chance And do things I've never tried That's been hidden deep inside Maybe I will find a shore Of wonderment not seen before Full of fun and fancy creatures With strange, unique and silly features Pyramids and Eiffel Towers And the Louvre have special powers Enchanting visitors with their glory Reliving memorable stories All these things I can achieve If my heart only believes Once I cross that winding bridge Dreams and hopes will start to live

Robin. Reading your poem puts me in mind of my childhood, when anything and everything was possible...when stepping on a crack in the pavement was sure to break a mother's back...when monsters lived in the basement where our old furnace was, and I just KNEW that someday, I could grow up and be a knight, or be crowned king (even though we don't have those things in the US). Loved the read, and the feelings generated. Grats on the 1st place win!!!! CTB

In your writing I see a man who knows how to dream change to a man who knows how to live ... simply by crossing each bridge in life with hope and faith.... Nice work my friend.... Jake

Hope it is a bridge where they don't charge a toll to cross. Where the Delaware River separates Easton, PA from Phillipsburg, NJ, practically anybody can throw a rock to the other side because it is so narrow. However, they have the audacity to charge all vehicles at least one dollar to cross the bridge of Interstate 78. Thi is a fanciful write.

I have crossed many a bridge in my life, both literal and figurative. And you never know what's on the other side. Speaking figuratively, I have found joy, terror and heartache on the other side. Loved this, sweet pea <3
