Basket, Bag Or Hamper

The hamper of my youth was built Into the bathroom wall. You got undressed and tossed your clothes Next to the shower stall. When I left home, a laundry bag Held items for the wash, As much as in a canvas sack Your arms could cram or squash. Today a wicker basket Is where clothing sits and waits ‘Til the day it’s overflowing ‘Cause of what accumulates. Be it basket, bag or hamper, Take a glance and you’ll know when You must empty out the contents Just to fill it once again.

Ah, if only we didn't wear clothes! On second thought, we'd still have to wash, wouldn't we? You have a skill at writing about domestic matters. Enjoyed. / M

I don't mind doing the washing - very simple compared to the days my mum did it and the machines were so antiquated - she even had a mangle to squeeze the water out of the clothes lol - those were the days! Hugs Jan xx

I actually like doing the laundry -- I just hating folding clothes. I read that rolling clothes saves room in your drawers -- I might try that!! 7

Laundry is an endless chore, you hope just once a week. But often times it's by day five that things begin to wreak. A tisket, a tasket. I need another basket. It's almost enough to make you yearn to lay down in your casket. :) P. S. My laundry doesn't really stink that soon or at all. ;/ P.P.S. Towels need to hang to dry before joining the party. :)
