Attention: WORD NERDS--------- The Eight Parts of Speech

---------------------- "Word Nerds" (like me)...
************Please Have Fun & Read VERY Closely:)***********

now and again
a word
sneakily obscure
approaches the fog in me
screams its name
apropos adverbs appear
precarious adjectives
slick little nouns
caught hiding
beyond babbling brooks
sent to exile
defiling crooks
"pro"fessional nouns
beneath eight parts of speech
pre'fixed subjects
elusive predicates
slithering suffix'ation
turn-ing key
through holes
freeing vocabulary
within prison walls
pen bars
filled in the past
like Job's tedious job
of siphoning
homographs from heteronyms

words never mind...
they wind the mind
in the wind...

This is a great poem, Joey. Too bad I missed it the first time, but the cliche: better late than never still holds true. I don't want to ass-kiss people, but still feed the need to encourage. Great flow to this poem, man, even through the tricky parts - you ended everything off smoothly. This is a Fav for sure.

I sure hope you are well versed in your knowledge of all these parts of speech. It will serve you well in your portal! heehee. This glided on down to its clever conclusion. They wind the mind gliding in the wind. Also that was funny job's tedious job!! (i had to think a second it was two different job's!)

There really is a wonderful flow to this poem, Joey, and I love the way you describe all the parts of speech. This from an old English teacher. Great work! Love, Carolyn

Thanks for the comments and kind words on my poems. You know, I was in Uruguay (Montevedio) in the year 2003 attending World Congress of Poets' conference. A few of my poems are translated in Spanish, JS
