Complete Honesty

Happiness is prominent
in the fantasies of youth.
Yet, chasing hugs and kisses,
anxieties grow acute.
Bravado and passion fuel
flights of imagination.
But unfamiliar with love,
hope pursues feelings of lust.
And when loneliness lingers,
you feel something has to change.
But any chance of success
calls for complete honesty.
Love cannot thrive chained to tears,
half-truths, or outright deceit.
And love is never neutral;
it's the only thing that's real.
