Alive Again

Beauty is a dangerous phoenix Never teaching its vital lesson Yet when you had enough of its tricks It shows you a new, red, dawn Beauty is very much alive and kicking Waking you up from your sorrow Beating at you with its wing Only to be a shot by Cupid’s arrow Beauty is a brass pendulum, Coming and going, without much feeling A monotonous rhythm soothing you numb Until you take shelter beneath its red wing
