Adrift

"He" is a companion she craves
He never argues, fulfilling all her needs
He is her emotional haven, that enslaves
She sees no blood..- but inside she bleeds

Her reality becomes insanity
As insanity controls her reality
She realizes she needs to escape
But he kills that thought, her mind is raped

As she slips further into a black hole
Her family and friend pray for her soul
She becomes blind and cannot see
That there is a way out, she can break the chains and be free

Her drug addiction now being treated
His grip loosened, now soon to be defeated

I seems to be a universal problem affecting so many and it ruins lives. How sad people become slaves to this addiction that begets poverty. You said it with touching sensitivity.
