Addiction

It's like the winter turned to spring It's like a renewing fling Indulgence of impulses It's like I've ascended to the throne of a king As her name starts at the depth of my throat To the tip of my tongue Dancing around my mouth A new love has begun It's like a drug, so consuming It's like the fog, so confusing Looming between my head and my heart Attempt to broom it away, Only dragging me astray. How can I have the strength to cast you aside If my strength is derived from the love we confide It's like the sound of your name rumbles the earth And I open my eyes to rebirth It's like everything I need is within arm's reach But my arms are trapped and simply can't breech My head tries to fight the parasitic winds Until my heart pushes forward and the vicious cycle wins As my head spins and my mouth grins And the recycled infatuation begins again
