According To the Mayan Calendar

Per the Mayan Calendar the world was to end on the twenty-oneth of December! I called my preacher who knows about celestial things and he couldn't remember, Receiving any such revelation from his Boss Up There about any pending disaster! I breathed an unfeigned sigh of relief since I have great confidence in my pastor! Well, the twenty-oneth of December came and went with no change that I perceived! The only amazing thing to me on that day was how the population can be deceived! The Good Book espouses over and over that "We knoweth not the time nor day!" I reckon all we can do is behave ourselves 'til that day or there'll be 'ell to pay! Robert L. Hinshaw, CMSgt, USAF, Retired © All Rights Reserved

It's really quite ridiculous, all this "Mayan Calendar" nonsense! What I find especially comical is that when you really look into it, the calendar just ends on December 21st... the Mayans never said the WORLD was going to end! These predictions get us no where... I like the way your mind works!

We've had our share of false prophesies lately about the end of the world but your take on the event takes the cake. Such a fun outlook you have on so many things. Happy new year Bob! Lizzie

Robert, I thought that I had commented on this one but I had missed it somehow..Yes, we can't know the time when it will happen..The Bible says that God only knows for Jesus said that He did not even know only the Father..And we don't know the how exactly..At some time everything will be destroyed and there will be a new heaven and a new earth..Thanks for stopping by..I hope that the New Year holds only good for you and Vera..Sara

Did you notice how people kept saying it didn't come to pass when there was still time left on that day. :) Don't tempt fate, huh? :) I'm glad the pastor staved your strife. And now you can get on with your life. :) HAPPY NEW YEARS TO YOU ROBERT!

If Poetry Soup and all our friends are still here on December 22nd, we'll know it was a bunch of tomfoolery those devilish Mayans heaped on us! LOL! Oh well whatever, I've had a good life! Cheers, my friend, Jack

This is perfect my friend! I heard about this day and it's impending doom, or the supposed doom! I think the hype is quite funny if you ask me! I agree with what you have said, we won't know the time or day of the end...so any predicted event such as this we can be assured that it won't be the end of the world! Very insightful Bob, what a delightful and enlightening piece, Great Work!!
