Above the Grand Canyon
I watched Wallenda walk the wire;
My heart was in my mouth.
I hoped that he’d stay east or west
And wouldn’t end up south.
I’m sure his nerves of steel were frayed
And though he risked his life,
I worried just as much for him
As I did for his wife.
For watching from the ground, I think
That we would all agree,
Those minutes must have felt, to her,
Like an eternity!
