A Sonnet For Science

Science, you’re a cool, efficient fellow. Your counterpart, Humanities, is free to simply feel, while you, with need to KNOW, stir brightest minds with curiosity! You show us God-like strides in every field of your vast knowledge as you tempt mankind each century with wonders of your yield, influencing the world’s each greatest mind, practitioners who then unleash your power for good or bad into the universe. Arts dance while you grow mighty in your tower, like Babel rising. Will you be our curse? Your worshipers are not divine, and they - In raising YOU - may fell the world one day.

Science seems correct and, for the moment, is. Your poem reveals, however, that knowledge does not guarantee wisdom.

I agree, science and technology are not always a good thing for humanity. It certainly was not meant to be toyed with. This was a very intellectual observation, Andrea. A great poem, with a great message! I wish you the best of luck in the contest!...Thank you for the great comments. Yes, I do watch The Walking Dead, and it is an awesome series!

The difference between heaven and hell. Is who has the power to ring the bell. Within each soul we have control to do his bid or die. Your poem makes me wonder if we ever will know why. Peace. :) soup

So well stated dearest Andrea..Science is so important and scientists so intelligent.Their main sponsor is definitely God ..God is all and all is God.That is what i believe of course.I do agree that all these scientific steps can lead to better future or a mass failure one day.Excellent thoughts penned.Im still so happy for your haiku dear..big hug

Some scientists give us the seven wonders of man made creations and technologies but others tickle mother nature's senses..One day she might get very angry : )
