A Path

When I come I cannot stay; When I go I lose my way. When I think I get confused; For what I find Keeps me amused. I've often felt The gift of pain; The song it sings Is an endless refrain. I pity all those Who pity me For we all share Life's indignity. The hands of time Have crossed my face; But I'm not willing To slow the pace. A night, a day No time to lose; Right or wrong A privilege to chose. I am in love With all I see; The mystic truth Of eternity.

The mystic truth of eternity indeed. Well, me being "The Highlander" I'll leave eternal notes for eternity, for I'll never sleep and wander free. Another fine piece Elizabeth, you sure know how to write :)

A fight, a race and a test of pain. TO THE PAIN THEN! :) Beautiful poetry Elizabeth, I love the inspirational tone and 'a privilege to chose' was a great line, it is indeed.

One cannot denigh the true gift of art. when we miss the ... or close our eyes to and know that this is true art. we are not to ignore Gods gifts or something will surely be missed. thou my equal has been missed. all because of a single twist. but now that barrier has been broken.let us rely on things that are spoken. only because you are my equil in poetry. nothing less. john

But I'm not willing to slow the pace. That's what I meant to put in the bowl.

And life is lived within each soul. The path one takes will bear the tole. The yin and yang and oh my lord! Is all that one soul can afford.

Well written Lizzy -- I like the lines that say"when I think/I get confused" this made me smile. It is very dreary outside and the roads have become so icy today so I am enjoying reading poetry. love phyl
