A Message To Newly-Married Men

A Message to Newly-Married Men By Elton Camp Okay, fellows, you better not dare This poem, with your wife, to share But if a woman reads it anyway, “That’s right,” she will surely say A wife will act nice for a year or two After that, the honeymoon is through Things will, by then, start to get rough As her Mother said, you aren’t good enough Your spouse will have come to expect Your words and actions she must correct With a clod like you, she doesn’t belong For you are most consistently wrong But she’ll probably tolerate you anyway Because it’s easier just to let you stay Young men, my words you’d better fear It’s the voice of experience speaking here
