A Little Air Please - New Year's Resolution

A Little Air Please - New Year's Resolution Breathing is an important thing to do I think I will resolve to do it too Through and through the New Year I think I will start at the stroke of twelve And make it my New Year’s resolution Take one breath at a time and call it mine Swallow air, as if it is my very first time And then for good measure I resolve to do it again Breath once in and once out Throughout the year I hope I get it right Sometimes I’m confused and I forget Should I start with an exhale first Then do the inhale next? I want to do the New Year right If I hold my breath too long Will I lose my life? Will I become addicted? Created on 12/08/14 for – Regina Riddle’s - “New Year's Resolution” – Poetry Contest

Hi KAYOD5, Thank you so much. All we can do is to take one step at a time and one breath at a time, however, I am going to try to drive 2 cars at the same time and perhaps toy with the laws of nature. I hope you have a productive and Happy New Year. Earl

Hi Linda. Thank you so much. I wish you the best that life has to offer. I've found that taking one step at a time. (I'm not sure if it is the left or right foot first.) and taking one breath at a time works just fine. Happy New Year! Have a great one. Take care. Earl

Hi Sandra, Happy New Year! Thank you so much. They say only 18% of people keep their new years resolutions. I wasn't taking any chances so I went with a simple one. Have a great new year. Take care. Earl

Yes, I find myself holding my breath and then with an explosion -- blow and start breathing again. My resolution is speak less breath more!! Thanks for the reminder -- well written!

Hi David, Thank you for your comments. Resolutions are easy for me to keep. Since breathing is primarily an involuntary action, I should be able to keep this one, without becoming a cumbersome burden on others. Thank you for your words of wisdom. Have a great day. Earl
