A Grandmother's Love

Eyes wide and innocent, blue with sparkles of mischief shining through. I see you, angel girl. You see me and run, straight into my arms. You shout my name, "Grandma! Grandma!", as I scoop you up. If I could, I would give you the world. A sloppy kiss on my cheek and a hug. "Love you, Grandma!" "Love you, too, baby!" Off you run to explore your world with curiosity and wonder. I am putty in your hands.

Kim, I like this poem. I've got three sons and hope they'll produce a granddaughter. I can just see the cherub running too you, innocent, screaming Grandma. I'll make a great grandpa, till then I'm a Dad. Tom

Tom, I never thought I would be a grandma because both my sons told me not to hold my breath about them getting married or having kids. But then my eldest met the right woman and now I'm a grandma and loving every minute of it. Thank you for your comment!

Hmmmm! Made me miss my grandma and she loved me just this way...she was putty in my hands and I miss those hands. Nicely done. Plot, running images, punctuation, formatting, all given such care. :-p

All my three daughters are in long term relationships. I am in no hurry, but this make me look forward to the day I too become a grandma. I see we were both born in 1959. A good year. Jean

Thank you, Jean! I never thought my two boys would settle down and had resigned myself to not having grandchildren. Then my oldest son married a woman with 3 children from a previous marriage and then had one of his own! Still waiting on the youngest son.
