Twas the night before Christmas in 2054 The only sound being robotic mice on the floor Our digital wish-lists were hung with ultra-precision above the virtual fireplace in pre-supposition for the anticipated arrival of a hypothetical being. The miniature adults were dormant in their pods As eidolon confiture twinkled their nods while responsible progenitors with 'Bed Head" applied had concluded their thoughts for the long Winter night. Then out on the Astroturf there began such a frattle Startled from our beds to witness the sprattle We opened the Security cams to survey the scene frame by frame we analyzed what we were seeing The spotlight that shone on the new fallen snow, Gave circumfulgence to our false mistletoe At that very moment a freeze frame laid bare a cutting edge sleigh and eight automated deer, With a jovial driver all dressed in Scarlett I knew it must be the Santa of myth and although his reindeer were mechanical frames He recited out loudly and called all their names Come Bolter, come Byte-r come Laser and Algorithm, Come Orbiter, Come Thyristor, Come Thunder and Mixem And he circled the rooftop in a Gigabyte of starlight shouting LOL-LOL- as his sleigh zoomed skyward. You have a wonderful imagination, Suzanne! I was enthralled by the zaniness of this story you crafted - and I don't know if you've ever seen the show or not, but there was a Futurama episode where they made a Robot Santa Claus. Though THAT future Santa Claus was actually evil and put everyone on the naughty list! Hope this did well in the contest.

Hi David: I appreciate you reading and commenting. I made the word frattle up. I am a big fan of C S Lewis. It would be fun to think of a poem like Jaberwocky......it is a masterpiece of tone and intention. SuZ

Terrific, Suz, love the jargon and the style, plus an extra ten points for using 'circumfulgence'. Very imaginative, too- I'm sure this will do really well, no luck needed. Viv x

Thanks Viv: I have written another Christmas poem based on the old original. 'Twas the night before Christmas. It is more specialized to our ward when I was a Charge Nurse at Moanalua Medical Center. There are some amazing versions out there. especially a called a technical Christmas. http://www.night.net/christmas/technicalxmas.html
