Silent Words Rumi
When I look into your eyes,
I become lost
Withholding words
That are so close to my lips
Words I know I want to say
I cannot
Afraid of what you'll say
So much I desire to let flow
With sorrow silently I’ve told them
A thousand times in my heart
Words you need to hear
Of feelings locked up
Deep in my heart
Arguments I try so hard to avoid
Afraid you might close the door
Like birds lock up in their cage
I need to let them have wings and fly free,
But kept covered
For no one to hear or discern
I need to keep them away,
Locked up safe in my heart
For fear of losing you
