My Yearnings
My Yearnings Sonnet
I can’t remember that very moment
as when her sudden glance flashed on my heart.
Days, months, years passed, I could not recollect.
Screen of forgetfulness hang to obstruct.
No other glances touched or appealed mind.
I desired, yearned only for those two eyes.
Time advanced, I left my feelings behind.
Just a glance was enough to mesmerize.
I waited, waited and waited so long.
Buds of my passion never bloomed but dried.
My wounded heart pretended to be strong,
showing smile on face, but silently cried.
A free bird spread wings in open wide sky.
and could not be bounded by social tie.
