Busy Neighbors

Two birds - sleek ebony, with tinge of blue, undersides of red and dotted tails - dart when I step out of my back door. Circling overhead, they soar. I’d like a closer look at them, to find their nest. . .but just can’t catch that pair at rest!

I guess you have deduced by now that I have started your book "For the Love of Etheree" and have been visiting some of your lovely examples of this art form. I even was inspired enough to write one of my own. Hoping to post it soon. Take care, my friend.

I feel the same way about two little cardinals I see in my back yard every day. Every time I try to get a closer look, off they fly away!...Milt

This brings to mind the daring, swooping blue jays that feast in our backyard. Because of all the stray cats few birds will dare visit, but the jays and cardinals are brave. Love, daver

wonderful imagery. I can see those birds clearly. I may be inventing this, but I like it that the form of this poem is the opposite of the previous one... Jack

Those birds are probably poets, Andea, lol,.. and yes, must-see became see-must for the sake of silly rhyme. Me loving intrigue? never... but that guy is great.. I am fine, thanks, and how about you?, love!!

It's strange to think of them as neighbors. But that's exactly what they are. Having such appreciation for our neighbors. What a wonderful thought. Gladys Cravitz was a little toooo busy. :)

i believe they were barn swallows when I finally found a picture online that resembled them. I am sad they did not come back this year.
