The Uneasy Truce

Assaulted by man and machine, Intertwining branches of pristine woods Form a brave barrier. A paved path, Line of demarcation, Divides Nature from civilization. The truce is uneasy; The detritus of man Encroaches upon the boundary. Thus man defiles the very sanctuary He spiritually needs, Diminishing himself in the eyes of the gods.
