A Mystic Rose
I found a rose that winter pardoned
Growing in my snowy garden
Snowflakes fell in silent hush
Upon this rose with beauty's blush
A jewel shining on frozen ground
This precious flower that I found
A winter storm then came to chide
This treasured flower that could not hide
I wondered; would it still abide?
Then the snow melted one day
And I rushed to see if it had faded away
And there it stood, this jeweled prize
Standing tall before my eyes!
With opal hues and crimson pose
My beautiful, mystic rose
