My Getaway
Such a peaceful place this spot I have found.
Where no one hardly ever comes around.
A sparkling brook so clear and clean,
Helps to set this almost perfect scene.
The wildlife here they show no fear,
Why yesterday I got to pet a deer.
He came to me as if he knew,
That I was a friend and he was too.
The brook is filled with trout and such,
While the vegetation is so green and lush.
I come here often just to clear my mind,
And enjoy this new place such a treasured find.
It’s really not that far from home,
I just close my eyes and leave my mind to roam.
Then I wind up here in this magic place.
An escape for awhile till the day I must face.
Well I have to go I hear my name,
But I’ll be back for some more of the same.
