Driving Me Nuts
Someday all this madness might make sense,
But right now I’m stuck a straddle of the fence.
I study and I study but none of it seems to fit,
I thought price gouging was a crime but no one seems to give a ----.
It’s like we just ran off a blind cliff with no warning signs in sight,
They keep jacking the price of oil and they act like that’s alright.
And from there everything else increases except the working persons wages,
And we keep sweetening the pot for illegal aliens, but shoot that’s another set of pages.
So the only really break the working stiff gets is when they lay him away,
And then it doesn’t matter and he sure ain’t got much to say.
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you somehow has lost it’s feel,
Now it seems like anybody in business has a license to steal.
When you reach fifty you just as well sign everything over to your M.D.
They’re going to wind up with it anyway just wait and see.
Well I’ve rambled enough, just had to get it off my chest,
But by a long shot with all it’s problems this country is still the best.
