One Nation Under?
We seek healing for our nation,
As the reigns are passed along to this next generation.
We seek guidance and wisdom through these perilous days,
For much too long we’ve tried to do things in our own messed up ways.
Show us your favor, forgive the wrongs that we’ve done,
Help us to put our house back in order, make us as one.
Once we were a nation, a beacon of hope,
But we seemed to have hung ourselves, You gave us too much rope.
I think we forgot to whom the dues must be paid,
And to whom we swore the oath of allegiance and all the sacrifices that were made.
One nation under God, I remember hearing that phrase,
Seems so long ago, a better time, happier days.
I’m just one voice, but my eyes are open wide,
We can continue this downward spiral, or let God lead the way, it’s time to decide.
We are selling out our heritage one brick at a time,
We are stealing from God and also our children, and that has to be a crime.
We may all have to take up a notch or two on our belt,
We must make a conscious decision one that can be felt.
Wrong is being rewarded so what does that make right?
If we don’t turn this thing around, then we are setting ourselves up for one hell of a fight.
