Poem
Originating from a tropical country My family and I decided to go to Taiwan We were on an airbus, big and long Sitting with each other and playing We set off heading to the east My, was it a long journey of 4 hours. Yes, touch down We reached the heart of Asia Overjoyed by new sights and the variety Of languages and citizens there I noticed the various colours of passports Everyone was so excited and waiting in line. It's been two years since then I recall very little of where we went But I remember we travelled with a travel guide And a family of four that came from the lion city They were similar with us yet not We are neighbours but completely different. We went around everywhere but had little time We could only stop at one place for half an hour There wasn't much we could do but enjoy The sights that calms the soul It's as if the nature was never disturbed here Everything was so beautiful and wonderful. The food was bland unlike the spices of my origin It turns out tea is very famous here and drank Whenever we ate, there was always tea served As we ate, we talked with our travelling companion They were very proud of their own country And of their daughter that takes care of her brother. It felt sad to see their autistic child unable To do anything or speak our language He could only express himself with sounds Clapping away when he gets excited Their love for him was profound despite so I only pray that he will be loved and accepted. A lover of Japan's culture and creations, I am Felt everywhere was a haven to behold For I was immersed in anime heaven It turns out Japan ruled this country a long time ago The shops were all in a row with umbrellas on top As though covering us from the heat above. It felt hotter here than where I came from Though the sights are breathtaking and glorious It often makes a person parched and tired Up to the hill we go, giving me a headache as we go The weather up on the hill is icy cold I believed it was 7 degrees then. As we ate, we enjoyed some beer Turns out alcohol is cheap here as well Even their cigarettes here as well Taiwanese people are mostly buddhists Believing in Feng Shui and the like Their faith was unique but scary at the same time. As for their specialties, their bubble tea with pearls Were normal though their chicken steak was great As for their beef noodles, it was the best I've ever tasted I wish I can go on and on But it's a really long story One that needs a long time.
