Poem
Glimmer is her body of a water Deep crystal clear surrounded by overgrown trees and wild flowers Situated between two villages also known as the lovers pond Where every young lovers met and had their first kiss Her pure sweetness flows to the edges where little CherryAnn would love to bend and dip her little fingers to taste its sweet freshness She would dip her little feet and feel its coolness inviting her deeper She knew she was not allowed to go in any further like the older kids do - but she didn't know why She would love to mimic the older kids splashing and laughing in the center of the pond She can only play by the edges and giggle from there While mommy's eyes dwell on her She would run back yelling -Mommy mommy I dwunk the watta -Mommy mi feet wet Mommy's face would light up, her heart expand with sweet love for her little baby girl But one afternoon after mommy was done with her house chores and went to wake little CherryAnn from her nap only to find an empty room Mommy softly calling "my sweet pea" where are you Mommy was calling four to five times and still no giggling from her little CherryAnn Alarm sound went off in mommy's heart Mommy running around the house the back yard and the neighbors Yelling where is my little baby CherryAnn All the other kids were in school So she had no one to play with But... Her favorite Drink...The body of a water that's hidden by over grown trees and wild flowers she had her own playmate - but mommy wasn't with her Mommy was running as fast as her feet can carry her But mommy couldn't run faster But mommy was too late There in the center of her pond floating facedown mommy's little baby girl Lifting her out Shaking her Pumping her chest Blowing air into her mouth Calling her name ———— nothing Little baby CherryAnn breathless Mommy's heart stopped Mommy's world is never the same anymore... The pond is now covered with dirt. Akkina R Downing 12-13-16 This is a true story about my sister and her little baby girl CherryAnn Who was taken away at only 4years old and sweetest angel
