Matthew By Franklin Price 10/8/2016 Matthew marked its chosen path through the Caribbean Sea. Death and destruction on the way devastation in Haiti. Not rebuilt from earthquakes that destroyed what homes were there. Population now in tents and shacks, Matthew really didn't care With winds and rains in torrents, flooding tides to maim and kill People who have nothing; without help, they never will. Hundreds, maybe thousands, dead and gone in Matthew's wake. Why did they have to go through this, how much more can they take? Matthew kept on going, sights on the U.S.A. Hurricanes are not selective as they travel on their way. Warm waters kept big Matthew at a category four, As it headed for the mainland after killing many poor. Was headed to do awful things where men are sent to space. Then Matthew deviated and skirted 'round that place. Eye just lying off the coast, winds pushing tides up high, Hundred mile an hour gusts, as Matthew passed right by. Trees blown down, some damage, many homes with power loss Matthew letting us all know that nature's still the boss Heading up to Georgia, then the Carolinas too Hope you protected all you have, did all that you could do Matthew now diminished, down to category one. It's spinning clouds rotating, still blocking out the sun. Projected that tomorrow, will be heading out to sea. I pray you're safe, when it is gone, along with friends and family.
