Poem
Darkest Dreams These thoughts in my brain over flow in my mind. Did I bump my head, because I lost track of time. I don't know why I'm here or even know where I'm at. They say there's nothing to fear, I see the welcome mat. But you're not here, so how is that? I can't be lost but I feel like I'm trapped. Then I remember, it's like a sight unseen. I'm lost in my head, my life's become a dream. I just wanna wake up but my eyes are shut. How do I know that I haven't gave up? Then I hear a voice, it's a familiar sound. So I don't look forward, instead I turn around. There's a shadow that follows me and I have no doubt, now I know where I'm at and it won't let me out. I'm trapped inside my mind, inside my own head. My body's at home and I'm laying in bed. There's a poison inside me, its dark and wet. And it's the poison that's brought me, to where I'm at. The poison is black, it has a sour smell, too much of this poison will send you straight to hell. So as my body turns blue I think I'm on my way. I'm just glad I knew you and I wish I could stay. Call it an overdose as I stop breathing, as I go comatose my body I'm leaving. There is no light, it's just empty and dark. As I fall deeper I feel I'm coming apart. But then I feel a warmth and I can taste her breath. As she breathes for me I feel her close to my chest. So my eyes open, I catch my breath. My heart starts beating, no cardiac arrest. She looks at me, there's a tear in her eye. She says "baby just breath, I won't let you die." So she saved my life, again as it seems. This girl is a flame in my darkest dreams. By aclifford
