Disposable But Undesirable In the cycle of life, everything has a price… From a cute gargling little baby born to life… To an aged adult all silver haired and wise… Thus for the lucky ones, this is a circle of life…. We weep for the nameless ones who failed to survive… From a cute gargling baby born to life, it survives… As doting parents fussed and flustered over it all the time.. The most nutritious food, usually expensive milk powder… The best tender loving care when illnesses threatened.. Once a cute baby, next a teenaged kid , now a citizen… Today, an aged adult all silver haired and wise…. Learned in the ways of life, the calamities and the joys.. Aglow with righteous pride with many bearing his family name… For a worthwhile measure of success in this life ultimately depends.. How his many heirs and descendants live up to the family name… For the lucky ones, thus goes the circle of life… But lest we forget, many unlucky ones didn’t make it at all.. The Man Upstairs with His Infinite Wisdom in the big scheme of things… He decides who prospers and thrives, any other suffers and dies… The only positive is that being dead is a blissful state of oblivion.. We weep for the nameless ones who failed to survived.. We the lucky ones who survive, we must make the best out of life.. True, on this planet called Earth, we are essentially passing through… It behoves upon us as good worldly citizens to upkeep Mother Earth… As pristine as can be, all green and flourishing as Earth should be… Horrors to the power be, what is this disastrous news today… Human refuse or rubbish are suffocating the environment each day… In a typical rubbish landfill, disposable diapers are a scourge too many… These are not easily decomposed, a process that demand hundred of years … Believe it or not, they may need up to 500 years before they degrade away.. In the future years, how will be the circle of life that we now know… Comes the day when the fragile health of Mother Earth is compromised… From rubbish galore and unperishables that pollute and taint the environment… To concrete jungles of high rise offices and apartments, where is the oxygen.. And smog and pollution from advanced development through generations… Who, what are the disposables, who, what are the undesirables….. http://www.thestar.com.my/metro/community/2016/05/23/soiled-diapers-stuck-in-landfills-recycling-is-the-way-forward-says-expert/
