Reality Checks In Woman Squash True to expectations, dreams come true for squash talent Nour El Sherbini... She came to Kuala Lumpur, she saw and she conquered all to claim the trophy... Since last year's end 2015, she has amassed 4 consecutive PSA trophies.... More impressive still were the manner of her victories in each rivalry.. Even when the chips are down and she has had her back against the wall... She may be 2 sets down and in danger of losing, somehow she prevailed.. Any other lesser squash player would have been contented with a single trophy.. But not Nour El Sherbini, she came looking for her 5th and crowning glory.. In the manner of her victories, one cannot help but to most obviously observe... Hers is an aggresive form of attacking squash, peppering winners with pace... Given her build and her youth, her talent and well drilled squash skills.... She is all poetry in motion once a rally gets under way, awesome in her nick kills.. Now that the playing tin is lowered to 17 inches, she revels in her attacking .... The lower tin allows for lower and faster kills, nightmarish for those retrieving... A retriever like the accomplished Nicol David has to move forward a bit more... This opens up more the back court, effectively increasing the area to cover.. Given her youthful age of twenty, fast reaction times, strength and agility.. Nour El Sherbini is the face of a new breed of players who are into attacking.. Attacking is the best form of defence is one often repeated principle of play. Best illustrated in a statement this young champion professed the other day. I am always looking for the perfect moment to play my perfect shot. Who is to deny the attacking mindset that thus underlines her every shot... An engrossing rally of prolonged hitting, terminated in quick kills into the nicks... That is the game play of Nour El Sherbini, punishing loose shots with nicks.. So for a quick reality check, woman squash is all ready for some drastic change.. Youthful exuberance coupled with fine racket skills will probably rule the day.. The lowered tin at 17 inches will contribute winners where nice shots used to be.. There is an abundance of young players yearning to be the next world champion... On the mark and for a quick start, Nour Sherbini is now the world champion at 20.. The writing is on the wall, it looks like it is the changing of the old guard indeed.. Squash fans, take heed, for woman squash is evolving with increasing speed..
