Poem
Dear Laura… I have an inclination that when you read this down the road you will have lived a long healthy and happy life. These things I pray for you. I pray for guidance when your daughter becomes a young lady. For not too very long ago it was you who also grew up overnight. May you never miss a single smile Ella wears the first time she brings a boy home to meet her daddy. May you be there for all her proms and graduations. I hope you were there to watch her walk down the aisle vowing her love to a sweet young man. A young man whom daddy must approve of first. May Ella grow up to be a strong, confident and empathetic woman. Her dreams of becoming a labor and delivery nurse I hope to come true. I pray for your excitement as you hold your first grandbaby, may the feeling never go away. Ella is perfectly beautiful, but there is something about grandchildren. I know this because I’ve seen that look in my parent’s eyes when I watch them with their own grandchildren. I pray for silence during storms and laughter wearing the birthday hat. I hope that one day you were able to live by your sister Jen once again. Someway and somehow if the universe allows this to be, may it be granted. For the love you two share will never break and life has only just begun. One day, your parents will pass on and it will be the most difficult thing you will ever have to face. I know how close you are to both of them. They have been your rock and more than parents to you and your family. May you kiss them off knowing they are resting with Karen. As the years pass and pass again, may your memory of Karen grow deeper by the minute. I pray every laugh you ever shared with her will never be forgotten. I know she has missed out on a lot of exciting milestones with Ella, but I hope you know she was there with Ella through it all, tucked away in her heart…she hasn’t missed a thing. I pray one day you and Nick will look back and smile on the creation of marriage you have lived. May God have granted you well wishes and goodness to share for the rest of your lives. May you enjoy the little things, and embrace the big things. I hope when there is conflict, a resolution can be easily found. When a loss is endured, you will endure it together strong as ever. I hope that the world stays peaceful and free of war and corruption. May the earth be covered in delicate beauty. A beauty only you can see for yourself. May you have taken many vacations. See every wonder of the world and all the fascination it has to offer. God has created a beautiful playground and you must enjoy the swings, just as you did as a child. May your memory of all your pets never fade with time, but remain a constant piece of your heart you need not ever let go of. I pray for many things, Laura… most of all I pray you have found perfect harmonious peace within your wonderful self. May the beauty of nature surround you daily and may God grant your every desire, and meet all your daily needs. Struggle will come, but beauty will stay. Loss will deliver you from selfishness and love will create an endless fountain of a youthful life. Laura… These things I pray for you. Love Always, You
