ATHEISTS' EXIT When the Stars: have all streamed across the skies, a million days, a billion miles. And the ancient dust of Earth, swirls in curls to send a recipe for flight of magic, repeated in their smiles. When Saturn's Rings: shall all turn green and every iceberg melt to join the oceans swell, And it's storms are calmed, as an errant wind of sand inside a shell. When Night's Moon: will blind the birds of pray for finding solace in the darkest day. And the creatures basking in the sun will cringe, and take cover from a burst of crimson ray. When the Sun: that silvers trees in silhouette, and knows the secrets of the seasons' danced in leaves. And things grow hot, then chill and cook, to ice and smoke, and hiss and spit with all the particles it heaves. When Men Shall Be: a sweet idea, no longer here to ruminate upon himself, upon creation of a tiny planet, of universe, or cell, nor wonder what his purpose is, or why things start or stop. And all that's left, in gravity and dust, is but the thought we must, wonder where we'll go or be; before the light will drop. When We Go: from our life here into the everywhere, as light to pierce the dark. And though we thought the light before, was some genetic spark. When We Escape: the richest black to whitest light, to stardust hot, we burn. Then there's no conscious thought of who, or what or when, or where we are... or if we will return. ~Edlynn Nau-
