Poem
Over a thousand mountains, Past the seas of time, Lays the black abyss, With its walls of filth and grime. All its paths lead to unknown death, Or the terrifying eternal darkness, Save for one devious path, Whose impossible length will seem endless. But at its final curve and end, It will lead to a majestic garden, Showing all its terrifying beauty, A fabled place called Eden. Ancient woods rise high above, And crystal silence reigns over the meadows, Which flank an overgrown road, Surrounded by shades of reds and yellows. A velvety blue pond shimmered in the garden, Aquatic creatures such as grey catfish, Swimming around a foggy island made of dreams, As indistinctive and magical as a wish. Hidden behind this misty wall of fantasies, Is an unmoving black granite bear, Ringed by billowing orange and red flames, His eyes sparkling as brimstone sizzled the air. The bear holds a perfect rose, In one of its hands, So tightly clenched that to, Be tighter it would become as sand. With thorns as dark as night, And a stem of lacy fire, Its petals are feather light, And as liquid as water. Eternal and immovable save, By the hand of a virgin maiden, A flowering messenger of death, The Flaming Rose of Eden. The world may come to an end, And heaven may crumble and fall, But Eden will continue to endure, With its flaming rose growing tall.
