Poem
A church is a hospital for sinners and not a museum for saints And it's not a place for someone to act like something they ain't We've all been through some heartache, disappointment, bitterness and pain Suffered physical and/or sexual abuse and mental anguish which has brought forth shame And it's hard for us to recognize that true healing needs to take place And that we need to have a relationship with God To receive His merciful grace It's been a struggle for many to cope without a cohesive family foundation on which to stand There've been dysfunctional relationships, childhood traumas, Broken promises and upset plans Feelings of unworthiness, thoughts of despair and suicidal tendencies There were probably no true loving relationships nor moments of intimacy Misplaced fathers, disinterested mothers Foster care and homelessness It's no wonder that so many of us feel abandoned, Stressed and depressed But I know that Jesus is the source of my strength and with Him I can overcome Anything that life throws at me because with Him victory has been won He gave His life for me His blood cleansed away my sins He is my Saviour, my Messiah, He's my eternal Friend Joy comes in the morning and the peace of God in me sustains I now have an attitude of gratitude and a boldness of faith in me now remains I'm nothing without Him and now I clearly see That God is the one who has a plan for my destiny Yet I need to realize that the choices and decisions that I make in life Will have a determining factor in whether I succeed or suffer strife We need to have a relationship with God in order to discover What it is that we need to spirituality and mentally heal and recover To know your true self you must also know God For we are spiritual creations coming from His heart Yes we have free will God allows us some reign He only desires to have a relationship with us in His Son Jesus' name He loves us in spite of our good or bad behaviour Remember He sent His Son Jesus just to be our Saviour Don't worry if society leaves you out in the cold God loves you so come into the Christian fold We need to have a relationship with God so that one day we may see What marvellous things that God has waiting for thee So come into the church and pray that you may one day heal Tune out the choir of critics and let the Holy Spirit reveal What God has planned for your life and the path for you that He's arranged As the church is a hospital for sinners come and be healed from your pain
