Poem
It is quiet night, that I can hear – a quiet night, Darkened, that I can see, it is a cloudless sky. My feet are dirtied from the sand they land, My eyes are wide open, and so are my hands. Now I have reached to a common man’s cave Whence suddenly hear the crashing of waves Clashes of the sounds, they fight for the lead Even the soothing wind soars like a beast Peaceful rest comes by the strangest of ways It never does occur to me on one of my days I close my eyes while the others are dancing My heart is clear; the quietude is enchanting Then I see an old man by a burning bough He’s desperate, to cope with the forlorn cold A moment of peace the heat could render At dark, he last gains some sense of comfort He’s left his soul while the fire’s burning still This instance passes an echo of the unfulfilled The dancers cease their dancing and rejoice When their eyes succumb to the empty void Tonight’s, I feel, somewhat a kinder night So, I saunter along the rising tides I’m at peace, just one night, also quite dazed While the moonlight shines on a cliff ablaze
