Poem
The End “This is the end” She thinks. As she sits on the edge of a bridge. Overlooking the city she once called her home. She thinks of the times when she would play, laugh, smile, enjoy her life. But those times are gone Now, all she sees is a prison. Keeping her from the happiness she needs. All there is now, is pain tears, bitterness, and a dead heart. The one boy, she’d ever loved, didn’t love her back. Or so she thought. What she doesn’t know, Is that this boy is currently walking. Just a few more seconds, and he sees her. and instantly knows what is going on. He takes off running. He reaches her in no time. He grabs her hand, and gently pulls her down. He hugs her and looks into her eyes. With a kiss, he tells her everything he ever thought, but never said. The day they first met, he instantly liked her. But she never gave the slightest inclination that she liked him back. She was too afraid to get hurt, but that only hurt her more. He expresses the days and weeks that went by. Eventually turning to months. Months turned to long, slow years. Eventually, he had given up on the love he had for her. As he breaks the kiss, he tells her: It just so happens, that today was the day, he was fed up. He decided to quit. He was on his own journey to the bridge. With the same intended destination as her own. To end his own misery. But something out there had a different plan. They walk home together, hand in hand. She’s still crying, But this time, they’re not tears of sadness, They’re tears of joy.
