Poem
You said "why don't you just get over it", But it's really not that easy, I feel incomplete without you here, Wondering where we went wrong. For once I was happier than ever, I could feel the fireworks, I felt the sparks and saw the color In your cheeks when we kissed. I heard warmth in your words, Saw your eyes sparkle, How could you say it was a mistake, It was all just a lie? I've lost my way now, Can't get back home, No matter how far I travel It's never far enough. I'm running to the place, The one you once called home, And I can't stop from screaming your name, But I know you won't be there. I’m trying my hardest, really, But I’m constantly being reminded, It’s not fair but what can I do? I swore that was the last time. It’s not like you didn’t know I loved you, you knew, the thing is, I thought you felt this way too, And now your story’s changed to suit you. What were you so afraid of? You promised me forever, What made you change your mind? I don’t understand. I've lost my way now, Can't get back home, No matter how far I travel It's never far enough. I'm running to the place, The one you once called home, And I can't stop from screaming your name, But I know you won't be there. And all I can say is, I tried, I tried to love you But you didn’t want it, You pulled away. So why can’t I stay away? You’re a drug, you left me Breathless, defenseless, Nowhere else to turn. You said "just move on, I don’t know what you expect of me", I was just a silly mistake to you, A foolish girl who fell for lies. I've lost my way now, Can't get back home, No matter how far I travel It's never far enough. I'm running to the place, The one you once called home, And I can't stop from screaming your name, But I know you won't be there Every minute I waste Is another minute gone, But I can’t stop myself, You got under my skin. Made a home inside my heart, And tore my feelings apart, I’ve become numb, I don’t Know what to feel anymore. It’s so frustrating, tiring to still Stand here waiting, hoping You’ll change your mind and see I’ve always been here. And maybe this is just A repeat of everything, Maybe I do deserve better, But I never wanted better. I've lost my way now, Can't get back home, No matter how far I travel It's never far enough. I'm running to the place, The one you once called home, And I can't stop from screaming your name, But I know you won't be there....
