Poem
Are you a threat? You come from the ominous warning of dark and heavy clouds as if a cry when the burden can't be held up by a mourning sky... You drop so sudden, no time to take shelter only to realize one is drenched with cold and mire, left in defeat and ire.. Probably, at times we dislike and least expect you Especially when traffic jams cause some delays In our busy life, at times, you are a cumbersome and messy stuff too... No choice , we may only sigh and curse you.. Till we get tired and cry.. But are you a heaven sent as well? If you were, take us to an open field where daffodil unashamedly blossoms as your touch tips its petals...and promise us tender days ahead and storm free tomorrow... Let us hear the rhythm of your songs as you sway gently and obediently to where the hard and proud wind brings you...and assure us you are neither cut nor hurt.. That in the darkness of the night , you create a hymn to quench the thirst of summer and sustain the color of the sleepy flower bud supposed to bloom in spring and flow down to the bottom of the earth to give warmth to the yearlings frozen in winter Let us realize that our dream is as translucent as your stream that even the shady light can understand its longing. And sails you to commune with the infinity of the ocean to kiss playfully the willful waves.. and carries you up even to unknown cities.. and washes out the fear behind Your suppleness teaches us how to bend gracefully through adversaries that chafe our spirit and break our peace... Just like you at times you punch our window sill in anger and splatter your frustration against the windshield of our car.. Does something from nature disturb your peace too? But should we forget, how the innocent child enjoys The tenderness you bring, as he circles and plays with you and blurts out a shrieking laughter When a drip trickles down his face and ears And shouts with excitement when your tiny mists slip out from his tiny palm... Rain, whoever you are, so simple to feel yet too complicated to care about.. We can only enjoy or hate you every time you are here But rest assured, the lesson you show is something else we learn...
