Poem
Today morn I got an urgent call there was trouble in paradise. I rushed out my house and breezed past the blossoming butterfly. I only caught a glimpse of the lillies swaying in the soft morning breeze and I was in too much haste to consider the blue honey bird perched atop the flowering mulberry. I waved a hasty hello to my neighbour's call and failed to return the cordial smile lighting his friendly countenance. No time for chit chat I warned myself as I rushed past the fair lady with flowing hair and sweet scent like spring time rousing flowers, and failed to notice the glimmer in her eyes as they attended me. I arived at the gates to a sight bewildering, the fairies had lost their long luscious hair and their glimmering eyes were now tear glistened. The singing lillies and swaying flowers wilted and butterflies that gently atended them were no more, but clang to their coccoons in hiding. The emerald dazzling rivers bubbling with chit chat were now murky and hush with stillness and the air usually replete with melodies from abodes in the trees, was eerily silent. I ran to the keepers seeking an answer to a nightmare, Then I saw them. Rushing past paradise. Many people miss their measure of happiness not because they never found it but because they didn't stop to enjoy it. Michael Faulkner.
